Activity Overview:
The Post Graduate Department of Psychology organized a field visit to Kripa Foundation, Anjuna, and Chaitanya Institute of Mental Health, Thivim, on 30th September 2025 as part of the Clinical Psychopathology and Counselling Across the Lifespan papers. A total of 22 students and 2 faculty members participated in the visit.
At Kripa Foundation, the resource person, a recovered addict, shared insights on the history and functioning of the rehabilitation center, with special emphasis on the 12-step program. His personal testimony helped the students to understand the social and psychological challenges in the recovery process. The group was also taken around the center, which gave them a practical view of the rehabilitation setting.
At the Chaitanya Institute of Mental Health, the in-charge explained the functioning of the institute, highlighting the multidisciplinary approach adopted in rehabilitation. The interactive Q&A session was enriching for the students, as it allowed them to clarify doubts and engage with the practical aspects of the rehabilitation process.
The field visit provided students with experiential learning opportunities, helping them to connect the theory and practical component of mental health and rehabilitation.
