The Department of Chemistry organised its state level Inter-collegiate competition ‘Atomica 2025’ on the 13th September 2025. A platform for the students of the state that beautifully merged creativity with chemistry.
The invitation for the event was sent by e-mail to the principals of the various science colleges in Goa. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across five colleges from the state bringing forth innovative ideas, talent, and scientific sprit.
The event comprised of a total of four on-stage and six off stage competitions. The teams registered at the college. The inaugural programme began at 9.45 am with the prayer service. Ms. Persia led the gathering in prayer which was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp. The principal of the college Dr. Aldina Braganza spoke briefly about the college. Ms. Fatima Gracias, Head of the Department of Chemistry welcomed the audience.
The teams participated in a total of ten events that included four on stage and six off-stage competitions. The competition concluded on a high with the team from Parvatibai Chowgules College emerging as the winner while St. Xavier’s college, Mapusa secured the runner-up position.
A teams from the participating colleges comprised of total of 70 students that participated in the competitions. The students of the college from the TY and SY were in the organizing committee that helped in planning and execution the event. A total of 60 students from the college volunteered for Atomica 2025.
Overall, Atomica 2025 was a grand success, celebration both science and imagination, and leaving the participants with cherished memories. The event ended at 5:00 pm.
