Activity Overview

The Postgraduate Department of Food Technology (PGFT) in collaboration with the Department of Economics organised an interactive session on Strategic Financial Skills for Emerging Professionals on 25th September 2025, held in the college auditorium from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., to equip students with practical knowledge of financial planning, investment strategies and prudent decision-making. The session was conducted by Dr. Celso Fernandes, Founder and Director of Nave Marg Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Inoska Mendes, Assistant Professor of PGFT followed by a prayer led by Ms. Naomi Moraes. Ms. Priyanka Madiwalkar felicitated the guest speaker with a potted plant and the Principal, Dr. Aldina Braganza, addressed the students, highlighting the significance of financial literacy for emerging professionals in today’s competitive environment. During the session, Dr. Celso engaged the students through interactive discussions, real-life examples, and case-based scenarios, emphasising the importance of budgeting, investment planning, risk assessment and making informed financial decisions. The speaker also distributed books titled “10 Commandments of Finance” to each participant. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Yuga, acknowledging the efforts of the guest speaker and organisers, followed by a group photograph at 11:40 a.m. The session successfully provided students with a comprehensive understanding of financial management principles, enhanced their decision-making capabilities, and motivated them to adopt strategic financial planning as an integral part of their professional growth and personal development.
