The NSS Unit of Carmel College, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 17th September 2025 in the college auditorium. The camp was held in association with Rotary Club of Margao Midtown, Sarthak Foundation, and Victor Hospital, Margao.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and community members. A total of 74 individuals registered, of whom 44 qualified and donated blood. The donors included 34 students, 7 faculty members (teaching and non-teaching), and 3 community participants. The remaining registrants were deemed temporarily unfit due to medical reasons such as menstruation, skipped breakfast, being underweight, or low haemoglobin levels.
This initiative was undertaken as a step towards community service and to address the prevailing scarcity of blood in the state. The event not only contributed to meeting urgent health needs but also reinforced the values of service, compassion, and social responsibility among the youth.
The college expressed its gratitude to the partnering organizations and voluntary donors for their support and contribution in making the camp a success.
