The Department of Psychology (UG & PG), Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, hosted its much-anticipated psychology fest, Psychomania 2.0, on 11th September 2025. The event was designed as a collective effort of both the undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students and their faculty mentors. as a celebration of the wonders of Cognitive Psychology, bringing together over 500 students from more than a dozen schools and higher secondary institutions across South Goa

The event was inaugurated with the ceremonial ribbon-cutting by the Officiating Principal, Dr. Aldina Braganza,

A delightful highlight of this year’s edition was the presence of two engaging mascots personifying Sigmund Freud and Anna Freud. These mascots interacted with the participants, the theories of the two pioneers in a lively and accessible manner, adding a playful yet symbolic touch to the day’s proceedings.

The heart of Psychomania 2.0 were more than 30 cognitive psychology experiments creatively designed to engage participants in hands-on exploration of the human mind. Students tried their skills at tasks such as the Müller-Lyer illusion, Stroop Effect, Reaction Time tests, Change Blindness, Memory for Faces among others.  ach experiment was transformed into a game-like activity, challenging participants’ quick thinking, creativity, and ability to apply psychological concepts.

Classrooms and corridors buzzed with excitement as participants moved between venues, eagerly engaging in activities that combined learning with fun. The energy, laughter, and curiosity of the students reflected the true spirit of Psychomania—where psychology was not confined to textbooks but came alive through experience

Psychomania 2.0 was more than just an event—it was an experience. By blending knowledge with play, theory with practice, and tradition with innovation, it created lasting memories while celebrating the richness of the human mind.
