Carmel College for Women, Nuvem, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Serena Palliative Care, Goa, on 2nd September 2025 to strengthen academic and community collaborations in the field of palliative care.

The MoU outlines several areas of cooperation, including organizing lectures, workshops, and seminars for the benefit of students and the wider community. It also provides for supervised clinical exposure for postgraduate psychology students, enabling them to gain practical experience in palliative care.

As part of the agreement, Carmel college will extend psychological services and self-care sessions for the staff of Serena Palliative Care, while both parties will collaborate on academic, training, and research initiatives to enhance psychosocial support in palliative settings. Furthermore, the partnership aims to expand community mental health outreach, with a focus on end-of-life care and grief counselling.

This collaboration marks a significant step toward fostering academic engagement and promoting holistic palliative care through education, research, and community service.
