As part of the Service-Learning initiative under the NAAC criteria, the Department of Psychology organized a street play titled “Shush Desh Nidhila” on 8th August 2025 at the Verna Market. The objective of this outreach activity was to create awareness among the community about the grave issue of human trafficking, its signs, and preventive measures. The street play was conceptualized and performed by the Psychology students under the guidance of faculty members, integrating classroom learning with real-world community engagement.
Using realistic scenarios, the local language, and powerful dialogue delivery, the students successfully captured the attention of market-goers and passers-by, who paused to watch the performance. The play highlighted the dangers and realities of human trafficking, encouraged vigilance, and emphasised the importance of reporting suspicious activities to the authorities.
For the students, it proved to be a valuable learning experience, enhancing their communication skills, teamwork, and sense of social responsibility.
