On the 28th of July 2025, a group of 36 students, accompanied by faculty member Ms. Faye Pinto, visited Anyay Rahit Zindagi (ARZ) in Vasco as part of a field-based learning experience. This visit was organized to help students understand the practical applications of social work and community intervention in addressing human trafficking and gender-based violence.

The group departed from the college at 10:30 AM in an arranged bus and reached ARZ shortly thereafter. Upon arrival, the students were welcomed by Ms. Juliana Lohar, Deputy Director & General Manger, WISH, who conducted an informative session highlighting ARZ’s core initiatives.

Ms. Lohar elaborated on the various facets of ARZ’s work—ranging from rescue and rehabilitation of survivors of human trafficking, to economic empowerment through skill development and employment, and advocacy for systemic change. The students were given insights into the organization’s unique model, which blends legal intervention, psychological support, and vocational training.

The session was deeply engaging and impactful, fostering reflection among students on the role of grassroots organizations in creating social change. Many students shared that it gave them a new perspective on the importance of community outreach and the need for sustainable rehabilitation practices.

The visit served as a valuable learning opportunity and strengthened the students’ awareness and sensitivity toward marginalized communities.
