On 9th July 2025, the Postgraduate Psychology students along with 3 faculty went for the movie screening of ‘Sitaare Zameen Pe’ at Inox Margao. The movie sensitively portrayed the lives, challenges, and resilience of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
The objective of the activity was to enhance students’ understanding of the psychological, emotional, and social aspects of intellectual disability through visual storytelling. The screening served as a powerful tool to bridge academic learning with real-life perspectives, fostering empathy and awareness among future mental health professionals.
Next day a faculty led detailed discussion of the movie was done to encourage active reflection. The students actively participated in analysing the characters, identifying behavioural traits, and discussing the portrayal of care, stigma, and support systems in the film. The students were also asked to write a report.
