Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women hosted an Orientation Programme for all First-Year students of B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com. on 29th July 2025 in the college auditorium. The event was attended by approximately 230 students. The orientation was conducted by Fr. Austin Fernandes from the Don Bosco Animation Center, Benaulim, along with his team from Don Bosco’s Konkan Development Society.
The orientation programme was conducted to help students gain essential insights into personal development and social awareness. The session focused on a range of important topics, including relationships, family, and sex education. These discussions were handled with sensitivity and openness, encouraging participants to reflect and ask questions freely.
In addition to the informative talks, interactive activities were conducted to engage the students in a fun and meaningful way. Games like solving puzzles and hitting the nail on wood added an element of excitement while promoting teamwork, concentration, and coordination.
The session proved to be both educational and enjoyable, leaving students more informed and confident in handling personal and social situations. It also created a space for open conversations, which are vital for personal growth aand healthy relat ionships.
