The Department of Commerce of Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce solemnly observed Income Tax Day on 24th July 2025 with the delivery of the Income Tax Pledge. This initiative was aimed at promoting awareness and responsibility towards tax compliance among students. A total of 128 students from the streams of Arts, Science, and Commerce actively participated in the event.

The pledge was administered by Mr. Audhoot Satardekar, Associate Professor in Commerce, who guided the students through the solemn oath. The objective of the oath was to instil in young citizens the importance of being honest and responsible taxpayers, contributing meaningfully to nation-building and the eradication of black money.

The event encouraged students to commit to truthfully declaring their income, paying their taxes, and filing their income tax returns on time. Through this simple yet impactful initiative, the Department emphasized the vital role of taxation in supporting the nation’s development and governance.

The session concluded with a reminder of the upcoming income tax filing deadline and a call to all eligible individuals to fulfil their tax obligations with integrity and pride.
