27 Botany (SEC) students accompanied by Dr. Janet Mascarenhas and Ms. Pratiksha Dabolkar attended a workshop on cold-pressed soap making at ‘The Butterworks Enterprise’ at Raia on 26th September, 2024 as part of their skill enhancement course in Herbal Technology.
The objective of the workshop was to provide students with the skill in cold-pressed soap making. Ms. Chaya Puri, a successful entrepreneur known for her expertise in making herbal products, trained the students. The session covered various aspects of cold-pressed soap making, from its historical significance to the techniques involved in producing eco-friendly soap bars. Students got hands-on experience to actively engage in the soap-making process, learning about the various steps involved, from selecting ingredients to mixing and moulding their own soap bars.
The workshop was educative and enjoyable and it contributed significantly to the students’ academic and personal growth, providing them with skills that could be useful in future entrepreneurial ventures.
