Noted poet Arundhathi Subramaniam read her poems and interacted with students at Carmel College of Arts, Science and Commerce for Women, Nuvem, Goa on 6 December 2018. The poet spoke about Mumbai, her poetic journey and the place of the artist in society. She read her poems, ‘Home,’  ‘Where I live,’ and ‘I Speak for Those with Orange Lunch boxes.’ The poet struck a chord with the students and encouraged them to write poetry. She was felicitated by the Principal, Dr. Sr. Aradhana A.C. and Dr. Glenis Mendonca, Faculty of the Department of English. She was introduced by Dr. Brian Mendonca, Faculty of the Department of English, Carmel College. The vote of thanks was given by student Xena Bal. The event was made possible by an outreach initiative by the 2018 edition of the Goa Arts and Literature Festival, ICG, Goa.
