Report of lecture-cum- demonstration program:
“Experimental demonstration of concepts in Physics”
Department of Physics Carmel College for Women, Nuvem organized a lecture-cum- demonstration on “Experimental demonstration of concepts in Physics” on the 28th of November 2018 at the college auditorium for the students of Carmel college and Higher Secondary School, and neighboring Institutions. The resource person for the program was a well-known experimental demonstrator Prof. B Dattatrey Chakradeo, retired associate Prof. and HOD Physics at CHM College, Ulhasnagar and President, of Marathi Vigyan Parishad Ambernath, Maharashtra. Prof Chakradev, put across the different Physics concepts like Bernoulli’s Principle, Oscillations and multiple collisions, elastic collisions & laws of conservation of energy and momentum, electro-magnetic induction & eddy currents, reflection and refraction of light and total internal reflection, multiple reflections, Physics of colours, etc. He also exhibited some magic and explained the physics behind every magic.
250 students from Carmel College Nuvem, Carmel HSS Nuvem, Presentation Convent HSS Margao, Fr. Agnel HSS and Verna Chowgule College, Margao, attended this 3 hour long program along with their accompanying teachers.
