Department of Botany in coordination with National Cadet Corps (N.C.C.) unit & Nature Club (Environmental Protection Club) of Carmel College, Goa organized tree sapling plantation on August 15, 2016 in Nuvem parish premises.
20 saplings were planted by the students out of which 19 were fruit bearing variety & one of medicinal value. This included saplings of Mango, Jackfruit, Soursop, Custard apple, Breadfruit, Chikoo, Papaya, etc. The medicinal variety was of Neem. To begin with, jackfruit sapling was planted by Rev. Fr. Fredney. This was followed by the planting of the remaining saplings by the student volunteers.
The faculty members in charge also were present on the church premises during the program.
