The Department of Economics organised a field trip to Sanguem taluka on 11th August 2016 with a total of 28 students accompanied by faculty members of the department . The main objective of the trip was to sensitize the students with the rich ecological resources of Goa and to make them aware of the economy- environment inter-linkage.

The students were taken on a tour to Tanshikar organic spice plantation, where the proprieter Mr.Tanmay Tanshikar briefed the students on the variety of genuine spices grown like Vanilla, Cashews, pepper, nutmeg cardamon etc. and bee keeping , which have economic and commercial value and its role in sustainability. The students later trekked to Netravali hills and witnessed the breathtaking view of the waterfalls. The students also visited the mysterious bubble lake called “Budbudyanche tollem” a sacred tank of bubbles attached to the Gopinath temple  and also a 220 year old house .

The trip was very enriching and provided an enlightening experience.
