Two days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (from 2-08-2018 to 3-08-2018) was organized by the Department of Chemistry, Carmel College for Women, Nuvem- Goa, in collaboration with Agnel Entrepreneurship and Development Institute, Verna, Goa. The main objective of the Camp was to make the students aware about the different areas of skills where they can establish themselves as Entrepreneur and create the job for others.

The Camp was inaugurated by Ms Cheryl Alvares, HOD, Department of Chemistry and Mr. Tushar Sawant, Manager AEDI Verna. Ninety two (92) students from Science stream attended this entrepreneurship awareness camp.

Mr. Pravin Sabnis, mentor (AEDI) delivered lecture on Camp Objective and Business Opportunities Identification. He explained the current scenarios in industry and the marketing strategies required for setting up start up as a career option. He talked about various career options and motivated the students to take maximum benefit of the growing nation by venturing in to entrepreneurship. In the second session Mr. Tushar Sawant- Manager (AEDI) explained schemes available for startups such as Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Chief Ministers Rojgar Yojana (CMRY).

On the last day a field visit was arranged for the students at Center for Incubation and Business Acceleration (CIBA), Verna, where the students got the opportunity to interact with various startup companies and learn about their startup stories. Mr. Jeffrey Viegas, Coordinator of the programme, proposed vote of thanks in the concluding session.

The program was highly appreciated by the participants in terms of entrepreneurship skill development. The students felt very passionate to turn their innovative ideas into reality.
