Students can get job opportunities in areas such as law, banking, marketing, public relations, human resource development, insurance, finance, business administration and accounts. Students also have self employment opportunity. They can start their own business.
The department provides job oriented education and provides the students with business skills that are useful for work life and one’s personal life. Faculty act as facilitators for placement agencies. Companies are invited to the campus for recruitment .
The department with an affiliation with GCCI through membership, attempts to attain its goal of maintaining practical exposure to industry and linking theoretical education with practical experience.
Our alumni are placed in nationalized banks, reputed firms, call centers, international airlines and are the teaching faculty of schools and colleges. Some of them are practicing lawyers .
An annual activity to develop teamwork and team spirit among the students, with its focus on the development of business, innovative and entrepreneurship skills.

YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS FAIR
This fair was organized to concretize the knowledge gained by the participants of the CMS Entrepreneurial Training Program and to provide a practical learning platform for the knowledge gained in classroom education. It is also poised to spread entrepreneurship awareness to the entire student community of the college and their families and indirectly to the public at large.
CHANGE YOUR MINDSET
Change Your Mindset (CMS) – An entrepreneurial Training Programme of I Create, was conducted at Carmel College for Women from 23rd to 27th October 2012. This program has been developed by National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) in the US. The four day program was attended by 18 final year students of commerce faculty. The participants were briefed on banking assistance available for concretizing their business ideas. Communication and negotiation skills pertinent to business were also covered. The program concluded with the Business Plan Competition on 4th December, 2012 in which participants presented 1 individual and 3 group business plans.
