The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, patron of the Apostolic Carmelites, was celebrated with great devotion and fervor on 15th July 2016, by the College Management, staff and students.
The Eucharistic service began at 10.30 a.m., the theme of which was “Let God’s mercy reign through Mother Mary.” The celebrant Fr. Mark Godinho, spoke on the origin and history of the Carmelite Order and the significance of the Holy Scapular. The melodious singing of the choir, lent great solemnity to the Eucharistic service.
In keeping with the Carmel tradition, the Management invited the College and Higher Secondary staff for a fellowship, which was held in the College Auditorium. The get-together began with a prayer service, followed by the welcome address by Sr. Maria Christie-Manager of the Apostolic Carmelite Society.
To enliven the celebration, the committee in charge organized fun-filled games and spot prizes. Snacks and refreshments were offered by the Management on the occasion. The Carmelex Association comprising of the ex-students of the college, distributed chocolates to students and staff, to keep up the Carmel spirit and cheer on the feast day.
