Anaemia Detection Camp was held at Carmel College on 14th July 2016.
The camp was organised in association with PHC Loutulim. More than 200 students attended the camp. Haemoglobin tests were conducted by 4 nurses. This was followed by a talk on Iron Deficiency Anaemia by Nutrition Office Ms Melkiza Furtado.
The purpose of this event was to let the students know the importance of having a balanced diet and educate the students about anaemia and its treatment.197 students were tested out of which 28 were found to be anaemic.
At the event 8 new members were inducted and were given YWCA calendars. As a token of appreciation the Nurses were presented with YWCA mugs.
